Monday March 19, New entry into the Automotive Declassified Encyclopedia: Acura MDX Priced from $39,995 - $ 47,795. The MDX is completely new for '07. The new MDX was a much needed replacement to keep Acura in the Mid-size SUV hunt, and this new model definitely delivers. It gains my golden steering wheel award for providing a wonderful all around package that looks appealing without the minivan trapped in an SUV look of it's sibling the Honda Pilot. A few things to aware of however is that the MDX is not a raised up car. The Acura is very much on the truck side of the crossover market, not so much in it's off road abilities or construction, but in it's higher off the ground step in height, higher overall mass, combined with it's rather heavy weight combine to give the Acura a big car feel. This is not a back road jackal, but rather a refined Japanese Range Rover that is best suited for long trips, comfortable accommodations, and superb packaging, especially in terms of interior room. In a nut shell the MDX is a winner as long as it's traits are best suited to your needs in an SUV.
